La Trobe University Offers Graduate Research Scholarships

  • La Trobe University is offering the La Trobe University Graduate Research Scholarship (LTGRS) to outstanding students including international applicants to complete a research master's or doctoral degree. The scholarship offers opportunities to work with La Trobe’s outstanding researchers and have access to the University’s suite of professional development programs.

    Level/Field(s) of study:

    Masters and Ph.D. degrees by Research, in a relevant subject.

    Eligibility:

    To be eligible to apply for the Ph.D. by Research scholarship, applicants must have a Masters by research degree in a relevant discipline completed within the last 10 years assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 70 or above, or possess a Bachelors (Honours) degree, Masters by coursework or ungraded Masters by research degree completed within the last 10 years where they achieved a weighted average mark of 70 or above across any coursework subjects.

    The aforesaid degrees must also include a research thesis of 15,000-20,000 words, or include a written research component comprising at least 3/8 of 1 year, or the applicant is the lead author of a peer-reviewed publication or other research published within the last 10 years.

    To be eligible to apply for a Masters by Research scholarship, applicants must have a 3 year Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline completed within the last 10 years with a weighted average mark in the final year of 65 or above. They must also have completed a thesis or comparable work of research equivalent that the University can assess for honors equivalence.

The closing date for applications is 30 September for international applicants and 31 October for Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian Permanent Residents.
