Green Hills Academy was established in 1997, with just 130 students. Today the school has grown to 1550 students with 62 different nationalities spanning from two years of age through Grade 12. Green Hills Academy is centrally located on a lush 26-acre campus in Nyarutarama, Kigali. Its facilities include a state of the art gymnasium, pool, music and band room, dining hall, boarding houses, and soccer fields.  Green Hills Academy is the only school in Rwanda offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, which helps our students get into competitive universities globally. Green Hills Academy is also the only school in Rwanda with Label France Education accreditation, helping students pursue further education and careers in Francophone countries. We are likewise AdvancED internationally accredited. Our boarding facilities are offered from Grades 7 -12. 

Green Hills Academy offers two options for families from Nursery through Middle School. Parents can choose the English track, where students study all content areas in English, and then French and Kinyarwanda as additional languages. Alternatively, parents can choose our bilingual 50/50 program, where a portion of the day is studied in English (English, Science) and the other portion of the day is in French (Math, French, Social Studies). Our experienced Admissions Director can help parents choose the best path for their children. Once in High School, our students study for the Cambridge International Examinations IGCSEs in Grades 9 and 10, and the IB Diploma Program in Grades 11 and 12. Green Hills Academy’s experienced College and Career Counselor helps students prepare and apply for universities. 


Job responsibilities:


The candidate must be able to hold site and curriculum responsibilities which include:


-Act as an instructional leader in the primary program, tracking student achievement, coaching teachers, and analyzing assessment data.


-General school management for the primary school campus, including master scheduling and planning events.


-Curriculum development, implementation, resourcing and training for all primary school staff members.


-Personnel management for the primary school department, including conducting performance reviews and hiring.


-Actively participate with other departments/teams in terms of accreditation, marketing, and whole school projects or initiatives.


Mandatory requirements:


-A proven track record of monitoring and improving student achievement


-Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in school administration at a leadership level


-Native English, or near-native English language skills, required


-French language skills preferred, but not mandatory


-Experience with Cambridge International Examinations curriculum and/or French National Curriculum preferred, but not mandatory


-Master’s degree in Education


-Current police clearance
